Facial wrinkles are another of the many conditions associated with skin aging. They are addressed on a very broad front. From the avoidance of direct sunlight and the use of sun screens to the cessation of smoking is only a portion of the information we give to our patients. This advice is an attempt to slow down the skin changes from the environmental front. From the treatment aspect we offer several procedures to reverse some of these changes.
Skin care is one of the most needed services from which most patients can benefit. This involves select moisturizers, night creams with alpha hydroxyl acids, select face washes as well as superficial facial skin peels... all aimed at removing the outer layers of damaged ski. Our initial consultation can cover questions related to the need and usage of those products.
Skin peels that involve more deep skin removal and resurfacing are available. These progress from the Trichloroacetic Acid Peels, done in the office, to the more advanced skin resurfacing that utilizes the CO2 laser.
For excess skin laxity, such as in the eyebrow region, forehead laxity, excess skin in the neck and under the jaw, jowling, excess skin around the eyes and general facial laxity seen in aging we utilize select surgical procedures. These procedures are discussed under their separate sections in the procedure list on this web site. These procedures include Blepharoplasty, for eyelid correction, Rhytidectomy(face lift), for the face laxity, and Browlift, for the upper lids and brow drop. All of these are for correction of the already present signs/results of facial aging.
More specific procedures related to Breast Lift, wrinkle removal, and Suction Lipectomy are available for correction of problems in select areas of the body. These procedures are frequently combined with other procedures and can be done under the same anesthesia, frequently on an outpatient basis.
