Brow Lift

The term "Brow lift" is used to refer to modification of the forehead and upper eyebrows. As patients' age, and in certain young patients, we see a drop in the eyebrows. This drop, or brow ptosis as we refer to it, gives a loss of visualization of the upper lids and makes patients appear to maintain a "frown-like" expression on their face.

Several approaches are available to correct this condition and restore the forehead to a more youthful appearance. The brow lift procedure would be performed through the surgical approach that would give you the best result... regarding what type of improvement is needed on the brow or forehead. The end result should be the elevation of the brow and removal, or softening, of forehead wrinkles... along the center of the forehead as well as between the eyes.

These procedures include...

Classic Forehead Lift (Classic Browlift)

The incision for this approach to the forehead is located behind the hairline; frequently call the Classic Browlift approach. It the incision is directly in front of the hairline it is referred to as the Anterior Hairline approach. Both of these approaches yield the same result but the selection between the two techniques depends on several factors related to the patients' brow shape, hairline location, and the degree of eyebrow lift required.

Endoscopic BrowLift

This procedure is used in select cases of browlift. When only a minimal amount of browlift is necessary or if the hairline is thinning, as with male patients, this is the procedure of choice. It is performed through several small incisions behind the hairline. The endoscope is then inserted through these incisions and the surgery is displayed through a television monitor. Select instruments are utilized to perform this procedure. It gives good results in properly selected cases.
